i took my bike to the mot station toay [passed] on the way home i was doing around 60 when it sudnly droped the revs and locked the rear wheel up it was like being on ice Shocked as the back cameround i pulled the clutch in and it came back straight,i pulle over to the side and the kick start was solid.G ot it home took plugs out looked ok one was a 7s and the other plug was a 7es gave the kick start a little push and it went free Rolling Eyes i pull a bit of oil down both barrels and it turns over the same as before, its the first time out on the bike its got 100 % syn 2stroke oil in it [autolube] standard exhaust,[i think is been jetted for jollymoto pipes] so should be rich, i havend started it as there must be some problem some were, any one ever had same problem Embarassed

Plugs should be BR9ECM's for a start. Running incorect hotter plugs isn't going to have done you any favours I'm afraid.

Take the pipes off and have a look up the exhaust ports is the first step. Usually only one cylinder will go, but you never know.

As was said in another recent thread, "assumption is the mutha...". You can't assume that because it may have been jetted for Jolly's that it will automatically be rich on standard pipes. It's likely to be a rather costly £200+ assumption I'm afraid.

I doubt theres anything wrong with that side of it.

This is what happens sometimes.

Pull the barrel off replate/replace it/them and start again. No point getting worried over it. I'm sure you will go through this more than once as most of us have.

I'm sorry but I dont agree. There has to be something thats caused the seizure, two strokes dont 'just' seize every so often for no apparent reason so it would be wise to find the cause of it going pop before it goes again surely?

hi all and thanks for all your advice,i managed to get in contact with [howl] and what a great bloke Very Happy told me all about the bike and its past,i took off both barrels today bottom barrel mint, top barrel had rubbed piston skirt to barrel. so i have cleaned the barrel with a scotchbrite, removed all alloy from barrel, and luckly when i brought the bike i got 2 spare pistons that came from those barrels, i was going to put just one in but when i weighed the pistons and pins etc there was 10g difference so am going to put pair in, Wink

Hi
The spare pistons were matched with the spare barrels that I sold with the bike . Check if they have the same letter stamped on them or measure them to make sure they are the same as there was 3 diffrent sizes ( A,B & C ) if I remember correctly.
Have you found a reason for the seizure ?
