HRC Coils

Guess this is for stephen, as i know from your garage that you have HRC/F3 coils fitted to your bike.

Did you ever measure up the primary and secondary winding resistances before you fitted them?

I'm not looking for any, i'm just curoius as to the spec of them.

i was measuring the resitances of rs125 and NF + NX 250 ones today and wondered if the f3.HRC 250 ones were basically the same??

the rs ones all has 0.5 ohm primary res and around 8k ohm on the secondary (without the cap fitted) so would produce a very powerfull spark compared to the std coils. Looking at replacing mine as they are starting to breakdown so thought i'd do a bit of investigation, the NSR primary winding resistance of 0.1-0.3 ohms is very low but the rs ones will be fine and the connectors on the rs ones should perform much better than the spade connectors on the std loom.

Price is comparable also in terms of future replacement, allthought the i-factory rs conversion kit looks to be the best initial buy as it inludes the mounting kit and HRC loom connectors that are v.difficult to get hold off.

The F3 coils are the the same spec as late NF5 RS250 coils but in the body of a stock NSR coil.

The F3 and RS coils are much more powerful than the stockers.
