brake light and gas tank

brake light and gas tank

my stock brake light wont light up when the brake is hit ,, the bulb and fuse are good so i dont know what the problem could be ,, also i have a used gas tank i picked up with no key , any suggestions about getting it open ?

Take it to any (good) lock shop and they can make one. I have had it done many tiimes.

yes both pedal and lever fail to activate the brake light , has anyone had this problem before ?

Well that narrows it down. Have you checked that there is 12v at the bulb?

well i have not checked that , but why wouldnt there be all 12 volts going there, i guess i will buy a multimeter tonight and do this test.

I don't know about the front brake leaver but the rear brake should have a spring that activates the switch to the brake light maybe it's missing?

I have 2 light related probs,

- no rear brake light, front is fine
- front brake light only work when lights on, no day time riding at the moment

Ride with your lights on then... even during the day! It's safer. Smile

Very rarely will you see a biker in the UK without his lights on in daylight. Well, except for me at the moment, as I don't have any lights! I'm sorting a way to retify that though, with a super-bright LED marker light to hide in the nose a little like a camera on the GP bikes.

Better to be seen than sorry.

you need 12v one side and earth the other, so there's gotta be 12v at some point!
