I have 3 NSRs now and only "need" 2. So I'm planning on getting my extra streetbike ready to sell but can't decide what to let go and/or what to keep. Of these 2 combos that I'm describing, the one I keep will be my track bike and all the HRC SS/SP goodies will be switched to it.
My combos include an SE with stock chassis; and an R with SE shock, RVF front end. If I keep the SE chassis I'll have duplicate parts for my SP should I ever need them. (Not the other way around - if I crash the race bike it sits till I can fix it) But if I let the RVF front end go I'll probably never have another one.
such an awful dilemma to be in. while i'm not knowledgable enough to provide good technical advice, keep all three. you will either regret it one day, or the right opportunity will pop up and you will know it is right when it happens.
Depends if you want the 'best' NSR, which would be the modified one, or a genuine standard bike? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

I'd let the RVF front ended one go. Honda didn't fit USD forks (even to the F3 NSR's) for a reason.
Besides the RVF forks ar eno better than SE forks and require the running of the larger and heavier discs which the NSR doesn't need. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I see what you're saying but if you want a 2t for the road...you want an NSR and if you want a 2t for the track...you want an NSR.
So, if you can't/won't/daren't track your roadbike...well...2 NSR's it is
The only other bike to even consider is a TZR and just the thought of stripping one down fills me with an urge to kill.
DO NOT even consider mentioning a VJ23 RGV, not only do they need one billion octane fuel and an all but unobtainable CDI to make over 55bhp, taking the airbox off is a bigger task than dropping an NSR motor out. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Non-Honda = Non-Craig. Yes, I've owned an RZ350 "Kenny Roberts" and a first year GSX-R750, but because they were special and I was young and stupid. 40-some Hondas later I have found the model that was made for me and I'm happy. It's just that I still have 15 or so older bikes and the NSR's value is so much higher than everything else. It would help pay some bills. But maybe I'll sell some Model T stuff first and see what happens.

VJ22, No, an iconic bike (in the UK at least as it was an offical import so many hold very fond memories) but in no real way an equal to any NSR.
Likewise the 3ma, lovely again and that gorgeous parallel Yam ring-a-ding is something to behold but outright performance is not in the same class, so now (as we've established the '21 trackbike is the way to go) you're asking Craig to ditch his beautiful Rothmans '21 SP (arguably the best 250 ever) for an 80's Yam. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
No, no no!! The R9N is the one that might go, not the Rothmans. I'm getting light headed thinking about not having that one. Ok, I have to go lay down now while my wife repeats to me everything is still ok.
There's no place like home, there's no place like home, no place like home.....
i will stick my 30 pence worth in keep all of them if you can afford to craig,i still regret selling my other 3 nsr's,the other pentax sp in particuler _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
My 2c worth Craig, is keep the R8N as original and unmolested as possible. As a desirable, limited run, it will have the most chance of holding its value, and a bit of that unobtainable "Honda prestige" (read into that whatyou will....).
Of the other two, keep the RVF front end, as per your comment re its difficulty to obtain there, for your track bike. Depending on the setup, it'll allow you to run wider rims for a greater variety of rubber. Fairings won't matter much, and feep all the hrc bits to play with.
If you must, sell the other (titled?) one - you should be able to find a buyer for an original(ish) condition MC21.
Keep your 'Rothmans' and 'Track Bike' MC21's, sell your 'other' MC21 road bike and put the money towards a RS250 _________________ Rich
