Well after your pages of disscusion the mag has a 5 page spread on a 28se, I've not read it yet just skimmed it as there are rules to reading PB in my house.
I did notice the forum gets a mention and basically it says the 28 is sh*t and not to waste your money and to buy a 21, but unless you subscribe you will have to wait another week before the mag hits the shops. _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

We've already got a good '28 bashing thread going, and already done a PB bashing thread for never testing a well set up full-power NSR, so keep this one objective please! _________________ Andy.

If PB has committed to a 5 page spread on a NSR, why the heck didn't they include a 21 (or an 18 for that matter) to compare against the 28. Featuring a standard 28 in isolation does not do the model range complete justice, simply due to power output. A feature showing NSR's through the years 16 / 18 / 21 /28 would have been great. _________________ Rich

Well, at least PB dedicated a few pages to the NSR, so respect to them. These guys certainly are enthusiastic about 2-Strokes and the NSR in particular.
But it was almost they shaped the article's message around the restricted nature of the MC28. John at Fastline was quoted as saying these bikes are not about the top-end.
Granted, they are very torquey for a 250 2T, but that is a useful secondary benefit, but not without the top end kicking in above 8K RPM.
PB measured 43 BHP on the Dyno. An unrestricted / mildly tuned MC18 / 21 would give approx 40% more power than this, which is huge.
In relative percentage terms, its like having a 5 year old Fireblade with a standard 150 BHP engine, then slotting in a full sauce WSB race engine with around 210 BHP. The difference would be mind-blowing if the rider was only used to the lower power. _________________ Rich
