Fitting Harc Pro Pipes - MC28

Thu Jul 30, 2009 4:41 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Has anyone fitted the Harc Pro chambers to an MC28. The stock lowers will not fit so will need a chop (oh the horror) and I only want to do it once and do it right.

Any one got experience (ie actually done it!), pics etc.... PLEASE!!

Thanks

You should be able to leave the lowers unclipped at the back and make up a small spacer (usually about 10~12mm will do it) to space the bodywork out from the mounting. This should save cutting the fairing.

A small alloy plate 50x20x2mm with 4 holes in to secure the back of the fairing sections finishes the job off properly, but isn't totally necessary. You can even tap the holes and use OEM Honda screws if you're really anal about it, and no-one will ever know.

What about the lhs side with the stand? Won't spacing the fairing outwards foul the stand when it is retracted? I was considering doing this myself, but I think I'd need to manufacture a 3mm spacer for the stand first.

I would love to be proven wrong on this, can someone post a pic of the modification?

The left pipe "normally" clears without modification.

Almost all the pipes I've encountered are like this... HARC Pro, TYGA (based on HARC's), Ethos, Jha. I seem to recall, but someone will correct me no doubt, that MC21 Dog Fights are the only ones that will fit inside unmodified bodywork.

Maybe it was M-max then... I'm sure there's one set that can fit inside standard bodywork.
