Rad swap

Sun Oct 04, 2009 10:44 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Does any one know if an mc18 rad is the same as the mc21, ie, shape and fittings, in other words will it replace my 21 rad? Cheers.

MC18 (and MC16) radiators are flat, the MC21/MC28 ones are curved.

An MC18 rad could probably be made to fit, but whether it fits without modifying the bodywork is another matter.

The 18's nor any of the NSR's tend to run that hot. I dont think any of my 18's have ever gone over 70deg.

Well one did but that was a 300. It boiled almost as much as I did.

There is always the time Fontyyy's 28 read 1** deg though in London that time.

There is a thread about curved MC18 rads of the HRC type, but you'll need to join as a titanium member to view the specific info...........

http://www.nsr250.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7566

You will be able to find regular MC21 rads on Ok!Shon / Yahoo Auctions or get Moriwaki Man on the case Wink

My MC-18 also has a curved radiator. That's because I stole one off an MC-21, fit on without much issue had to trim my Tyga body work a little.
