Poor running at around 5000 rpm

Hi. its me with the 21 that lay up for a while. I,ve cleaned the carbs out as best i can and though and set the air screws at one and a half turns out. set the float heights as best i could. it has helped it still runs really rough from about 5000 rpm. It will struggle on then run a bit better from about 8000rpm but then feels like its holding back. the end of the pipes are still wet as are the plugs when i take them out, any ideas before i leave it in somewhere to have it looked at. Sad

Strip and clean the carbs again.

They can be a real pain to get fully clean. Make sure you are also removing the power jet blank and cleaning them as well.

Thanks stephen. What do you recomend to clean them. missed the ones under the screws first time round but done them this time. The petrol must have completely evaporated in them as when im cleaning them its like powder. coming out of the jets etc, .does it sound like carburation problems . Im hoping its not electrical.

I use safety clean. Leave them soaking in that for a while then wash off with contact cleaner.

Using a small oil can with a rubber tip you can then pump light oil though all the air ways to check they're clean then wash again.
