MC28 I-Factory Specials

Thu Oct 22, 2009 7:43 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

It must be 'Open Season' on MC28's this month, with all the PGMIV Bashing going on. Anyway, here are a couple of MC28s from I-Factory tuning house in Japan which I think are pretty cool............

RS wheels running backwards always seem just a little strange.

Could always fit a million dollar RC45 wheel I guess, eh Steve?! Wink

I don't think most people would notice an RS wheel to be honest... most don't even notice an MC28 has too many spokes on the back in the first place! Rolling Eyes Laughing

RS carbs

When did honda make another 250 vtwin 2-stroke that had a kick start on the right and a sprocket on the left?

Look closer.

There is a very vauge possibility that they are NSR cases, but it's clearly not an NSR transmission or an NSR crank.

I believe Andy is talking about the clear(ish) NF5 barrels (look at the head and the plug smack in the middle in pic 5).

Looking at the book, looks like just NSR cases with NF5 barrels. There is also 78PS quoted in the Japanese text. So not much MC28 left except for the frame & swingarm.

OK, but it's hard to be 100% looking at that scan. I can tell you it's not an NSR crank or transmission, and odds on are that they are therefore not NSR cases.

I can clearly make out the area of the case where the kickstart casting is.
I didn't upload a high res scan because it would have taken Fontyyy ages to load the page.

Well I can't from the scan, and that's probably why the clutch cover has been painted black, to cover where the RS transmission cover must have been modified to fit the NSR kickstart housing.

There is a possibility if they have gone to those lengths that the cases are heavily reworked to fit the RS crank, or the crank has been heavily modified to use the RS ignition, but that setup is far from NSR. I can't see a true 78hp unless virtually everything is RS, and even then 78hp is works NSR territory, not NF5 territory.

Erm, linked thumbnail?

And it's not about what I do and don't like, it's about having a little respect for others and their facilities.
