Do you know if its still restricted or not?

Welcome to the forum Ian. Hope you enjoy the 28, and don't forget to check out the main part of the site for loads of NSR info. Anything not on there, come and ask! Wink

Ian, if your bike is in standard power spec, you can liberate some more ponies, as Dave said loads of info on the main section of this website and also at..........

Thanks for the warm welcome to forum.

The bike is standard and so I'm thinking thats a whole 45bhp or 22.5bhp each as was pointed out above.

The bike was registered up in QLD and is about to be transported to Sydney. We are both looking forward to see how it compares to the other two strokes that we own.

In reality, you are probably looking at nearer to 40 BHP than 45 BHP. Japanese power laws increased the engine restrictions around the same time as the MC28 was released. But it is possible, with enough work, to get some useful power.

mine goes just fine on the road Ian. could use more power on the track, especially on the straights but it very rarely gets near a circuit.
pipes, 21 flywheel and a modded airbox on mine. nothing too drastic.

Dave. Very Happy

You can have a ride on one that makes decent power in April Dave, then we'll see how you feel about a stifled MC28... even on the road! Wink

If only, the mc28 in stock form made 40bhp. The best thing you can do to "fix" that is replace the pipes with some that haven't got massive washers in the headers;

The top one is an mc21 pipe, the bottom one is an mc28, click the pic for a bigger, more horrifying look at the problem.

That's the main problem, dyno chart here with a stock mc28 and later with nothing done except the pipes swapped for some Tyga ones.
