Too much caffeine

Tue Jan 05, 2010 5:43 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

girlfriend issues
and mounting hong kong repsol mc18 plastics to my 16 can make for an interesting night.
The good news is the 18 tailsection fits on the 16 subframe/seats with a little help from my dremel and a bit of fabbing and for the most part the quality of the plastics isn't that shabby.
Bad news is the girl has a raging gambling problem and the plastics came missing a tailight mounting tab Evil or Very Mad Not to mention I decided to take this month off from drinking beer......... cause a nice cold belgium white sounds damn tasty right now Mad
Back to the shop to figure out a upper fairing, headlight and gauge mount setup.

Not without adding a little single malt to their coffee anyway...

On another note, how were the mc18 fairings? Are you satisfied with the quality? I m thinking of giving them a go. Photos and a link would be of great help too.

(Lesson nr1. Girlfriend and bike don't mix. Keep them as far from each other as possible. Laughing )

If you are already talking about cracking then I predict you will not make it past this weekend.*

Thinking of getting some for my 28, can't get it past the accountant yet though.

*no way would I last a month off beer

The plastic really isn't that bad in quality as far as paint & clear but a couple of the decals that had to be cut around mount holes look a bit suspect, stuff you wouldn't really notice on the bike though. Also some of the mount holes had to be hogged out like they just pull it out the mold, throw decals, paint and ship but it's all nice and flat as far as the surface goes. One of the taillight mounts was missing but I can fab something there.
I believe it's the pvc because it is a bit more flimsy than the stock stuff which doesn't bother me, looks like it should hold up good. Being a 16 owner in the states means I don't have many options as far as bodywork goes. Now just to get my tank and wheels to my paint guy and get my mock up for an aluminum upper fairing mount to my welder and I'll be in biz. The 18 upper will really change the looks of the bike. I was also happy the 16 seats fit as well as the rear lock mechanism from my 16.
I'll take some pix and post em up as I go.

As far as drinking I decided to take a month off and whip my ass back in shape for skiing and the upcoming supermoto season....cause the kx500 SM takes some arm strenth to hold onto Cool It really makes it hard being part owner of a tavern where we have 10 different beers on tap and a cooler full of sweet nector........it's only a month though.......right Shocked

You should've been out with me and Matt@TYGA last night Si. The bill in the first bar alone was for 45 shorts, and that only included one "lady drink"! Laughing We then proceeded to polish off 2 bottles of rum! Shocked
