VFR nc30 / CBR nc29 front end.

Wed Oct 07, 2009 11:56 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

On my hunt for parts for the mc16 I found in this forum someone used a VFR nc30 complete front end on there mc16, they done a stem swap and all was well.

BUT hunting for parts I can see some front ends of the CBR400 nc29, I know its around the same era as the nc30 so my thought was it may just be the same parts, anyone know if the CBR/VFR are the same front end? If not anyone here used the CBR front end? If they are different what is the difference?

I already know its probably better to just go for a newer NSR front end and parts to upgrade as everyone keeps saying but the parts are not only rare but expensive. My front end is narrowed down to the two listed, CBR/VFR nc29/30.

Yep hopefully things should be back on track by the end of the year and should be earning again.

Anyway back to the subject:

The NSR mc16 will be kept standard ish BUT its realy the difference in the nc29 & nc30 front end I would like to know as it will help my hunt for parts and open up more parts avalible. probably going to use the bike as a track bike for next year.

the vfr forks are better than the cbr forks , beware that the vfr forks are shorter than your mc 16 ones .

Can anyone tell me what the actual length of the VFR forks are (unloaded)? Are they the same as MC28 forks in length?

if you speak with graeme he will tell you all you need to know about the vfr cbr forks
graeme.france@tesco.net 07778 628448
he will probaly have both avaliable to

we have nc30 fork bottoms on nc29 fork uppers on our nc29
that way you can use 4 piston calipers from the nc30 (same as mc21 items ) rather than the 2 piston calipers from the nc29
think theres a few internal diferences with the nc30 / nc29 forks too
as i say give graeme a bell he s a top bloke

700 mm from the centre of the axle to the top of the fork . The vfr forks are at least 20 mm shrter than mc21 forks if i remember correctly .
