Buy this months classic motorcycle mechanic magazine for tips on how to clean two stroke exhausts.
Also has an artical about a SIX cylinder RG500 (making 160 hp).
And a lot of boring tat about old four strokes... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

I have found that CRC brand gasket stripper works really well on the tar like carbon build up. I reckon you'd use a fair bit of it cleaning the cans, but it would at least soften it up for some other cheaper solvent. Not sure if that brand helps you in the UK though........
dave's right the article is spot on and the RG has to be seen anyway. Imagine coming up behind a stroker with 6 exhausts at the lights.......would have even the sexiness modern bike worried.
The article does say how to clean two stroke spooge out of exhausts. Caustic Soda used to work for old mineral oils, but these days use modern stuff like Flash floor cleaner, or a mix of white spirit and brake fluid.
The cans have no wadding in them (as far as I know) jusy baffled pipes, so there's nothing to replace in there - hence no screw or rivits to drill out. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
