Help needed - does anyone know what this is?

Mon May 03, 2010 8:28 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi,

I have recently purchased this and was told that some of the parts are non standard. Ive looked into it a bit and am pretty sure that some of the parts are HRC. Ive taken a bunch of pictures and hope that some of you can shed some light on what the bits are, and what the bike is / where it came from.

Not sure if that link will work - the rest of the images are on BikePics in this gallery -

Hope that works - look forward to hearing from you all!

Hrc overflow bottle (overflow for radiator)
Looks Like a HRC air box could be a rep
Front cylinder centre plug .
Hrc race harness with deristrictor

From what I can see it has a HRC rad, and footrests, MC18 tacho, HRC SS/SP delimiter (wire splice) and JHA pipes.

Yeah, a few choice parts, but modified frame (not HRC I'm afraid) and non-HRC motor. Still a great base to work with. Pull the tops off the carbs and see if the needles are adjustable. The X and Y-pieces are not HRC, so you may not have kitted carbs there either.

Rear master cylinder is HRC, as are the fairing stays! Nice to see the Suzuka scrutineering stickers on the frame! Smile

The fairing stays are MC18 HRC rather than MC21. Looks like who ever had it before liked the MC18's.

One of the things I do know about it is whatever you see in the pictures is how it arrived from Japan approx 10 years ago - no mods whatsoever have been carried out on the bike while its been here.

Where did you get it then eh? Why do people who don't know about NSR's just happen to stumble across these tricked-up bikes........
