This wire/sensor (pictured) is currently connected to my thermostat housing on my 1996 MC28 dangling disconnected out as the temp sensor I assume? There is another green wire hanging down disconnected with a female end only single plug capped in white plastic. Is this the correct temperature sensor for this bike? If so, where does the wire with three prongs pictured connect to and where does the green one attach?
The manual shows two wires a temp sensor wire and a ground wire. Cannot find anywhere in the search forum.
Also, once this thing gets working, how long does it take for the two blank dashes that I currently see in the gauge to get a reading??? How will I know when its working?
I don't think you will find that's the OEM sender. As far as I'm aware, all the NSR's use a conventional single-pin ("bullet" style) sender with an earthed (grounded) body.
The second wire is a female "spade" terminal (usually with a black plastic connector) that attaches to the thermostat housing.
The parts manual image is a bit small, but it's an accurate representation of the genuine part.
OEM MC28 part number is 37750-KV3-951 _________________ Andy.
