I finally got Progressive to insure it after dealing with several people. Their computer system has been updated and it won't except short VIN's for a 1995, anything after 92 I think they said. It took a manual override with a managers approval and they had to research the bike. Turns out it is alot more expensive now, more like 400/yr for full coverage and a squeeky clean record, still not bad. When I researched insurance several months ago I just selected "other model" as the NSR wasn't listed. I tried that this time and it won't except the short VIN. When it took the "other model" selection it was only 120 bucks. Don't let your policy lapse or your rates will probably be a bit more.
