I'm seriously considering the purchase of a 1989 MC18 with less than 20,000 km. I've been told that all NSR 250's were blessed with weak gear boxes, including the MC18. Is that true? If so, what part of the 'box is weak?

Are there any other notable problems with this model of NSR I should be aware of?
