Er guest, are you the same bloke as NSRMonkey? If not, perhaps you can start a new thread so the advice for one doesn't get mixed up with the other?
Anyway, they don't move like the old RD350 valves did at switch on (I used to think it was saying hello...). Once the engine is running though, they do tend to cycle back and forth at random - possibly to clean the crud buildup like the yam used to do. We don't really know!
Monkey. Have you got a voltmeter and checked that the coils are getting 12v?
It is possible the gps splice caused a problem, since the wiring is telling the PGM which ignition curve to use. It may be that it is not getting a signal at all - have you checked all the plugs in the loom and especialy checked the earth strap to the frame is rust free under the bolt?
