Lower cylinder problem - any ideas?

timnsr250se » Mon May 02, 2005 3:30 am

Hey guys,
my mc21 basically isnt firing properly in the lower cylinder and i was hoping you guysmight have an idea whats up with it. I had it dynoed recently and it made 54 hp at 10000 rpm, but below 6000 its barley making 10 hp. There is noticably a lot more exhaust gases flowing out of the upper cylinder and the lower cylinder doesnt sound healthy Sad . And now occasionally the motor is just losing power all together and im scared the thing is gonna explode if io dont do something soon.

Do you think maybe the ignition timing is way off?
Or could it be the power valves, even thought they seem to work ok?
Would a blocked fuel jet cause this type of problem?
Do worn rings or ahole in a piston cause this?
Would this have anyrthing to do with the TPS or PGM or kiss DRbox?

When i took the bike to a mechanic a couple of weeks ago i said i wanted it rebuilt but they only replaced the head gaskets and said it didnt need a rebuild, which im not entirely happy about.

Any help whatsoever would be really really appreciated,
cheers,
Tim
