Let's try anyway.
I have a pdf copy of the 1994/95 parts manual and once you compare the information with e.g. an English copy of the cbr600rr model I think the mapping between colour codes from the frame sticker and the "Type n" in the part lists gets clear. I had prepared a screen shot of the respective page with explanations only to find out that I cannot post pictures. Well, I will then try to explain without a picture.
The colour code sticker on the bike's frame shows the model number (e.g. "NSR250R" and in a circle the year specific model code e.g. "2R"), the base colour as "color" (e.g. NH-196 for Ross White) and the "colour code" which is a combination of the base colour code and the other colours used, e.g. "NH196HA" for Ross White/Uranus Violet(P9) or NH196KB for Ross White/Sparkling Red (R127).
Each Honda manual has a Color Table on the first few pages where all the colour specific parts are listed per model code.
The NSR250R SE MY 94 has the model code "2R". The 2R was delivered in two colour codes in that year, NH196HA and NH196KB as shown e.g. on page 76, G11 Fuel Tank.
My bike MY 1996 also has colour code NH196HA.
From the little table on this page it gets clear that colour code NH196HA is type 2, NH196KB is type 1, at least for MY 94.
Maybe it's vice versa for 96/97. Maybe someone with a 96/97 parts manual can have a look at the small table on the Fuel Tank page?
Even though I do not know from the parts manual what a bike with a certain colour code looks like, I think I can identify which parts I have to order for that colour code.
