free tyres for some kissing lessons please

Thu Apr 21, 2016 6:42 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all

I have just removed a matched pairing Japanese Dunlop tt900 tyres from my 21 refurb that are in very usable condition... 110/70 and 150/70 free to anyone from here that wants to collect or pay postage. I also regularly run to Walsall and Essex and can meet there.
Too good to throw out.

I have also come across a kiss ecu plugged it the pgm3 unit.
Now I understand this is a delimiter but is this as good as or better than the wire splice???

All help readily accepted😁

The kiss does the same job as the wire splice, but if you had to buy it, it would have been an expensive splice, so, unless your'e handy with the soldering iron and dont mind chopping your loom about, leave it on.

The KISS was a nice little plug'n'play wire-splice in it's day. I bought one (it was £80 -- the same price as an HRC delimter box, which also needed a £100 HRC harness though!) when I bought my Ethos chambers from Cycle World in Japan, back in 1994. Didn't know a thing back then, so it was on the advice of Ethos themselves.

While a wire splice can be well hidden, like Les says, if you don't fancy hacking the standard loom, or if you want to be able to revert it to totally standard for maximum future value, then keep the KISS.

I sold mine many years ago! Wink

Excellent thanks... for the info. Was heading towards ( and secretly looking forward to)the wire splice but now I shall not bother...

Carbs and exhaust pvs out at the weekend and then just waiting on the powder coaters so I can rebuild the chassis with all new bearings.

Tidy up bodywork and my summer toy will be ready for use until a full nut and bolt next winter.

OK tyres are Dunlop tt900gp rear is all plus 3mm and front all +4.5mm.
They are in shape and no obvious defects. Look like 2010 manufacture.
