HI Guys,
Long time lurker but only recent poster.
I need new tyres for my recently acquired MC21. Doing a search on this subject reveals a number of suggestions but some are a few years old now so may not apply to currently available tyres. I will be using the bike mainly for the road but haven't ruled out doing the odd track day. Not looking for something super sticky that will wear quickly, my snail-like pace won't justify it!.
Any recommendations gratefully received.
You can get pirelli super corsa's in nsr sizes, (got em on mine ), i only use it for trackdays now so wear rate's not a problem for me, having said that if you dont use it every day, may not be any hassle, the tyre that seems to do the job well, both track and road is bridgestone bt090, i think metzeller have just brought out something in nsr sizes, so might be worth looking at them as well. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
I've been using Dunlop Alpha 13s. They are the atm cup bike tires. I. Was using the Bridgestone bt003, but switched to the Dunlop when the bt003 was hard to get. I generally ride track days, I get 3 days out of them.
We run Supercorsas on everything. NSR250, RC45, RC30, and even NSR500V. An outstanding tyre, but all track bikes so cannot comment on road wear.
Personally, I really don't like the Bridgestone 090s after having bad experiences with two MC21s with them fitted, however I am definitely in the minority. We actually have 090s fitted to one of the NSR500s... the only one that anyone has crashed (on a track day!).
We just fitted Bridgestone Battlax S20 Evos to an MC21 for a client yesterday, but the bike's in for a full recommission and they won't be assessed for a few months yet. Reasonably priced, and don't get terrible reviews for either grip or longevity.
We may possibly start to find a wider choice of rubber coming on to market in the correct sizes again soon, as 110 & 150 seem to be starting to fall back in to favour with the new generation of "sporty" 125s.
We are considering importing a few sets of sticky tyres with the next shipment from Japan if there is any real demand... lots of space in containers for sticky tyres! No idea why Dunlop still don't import the α13; by all accounts it's a fantastic lightweight tyre. I personally loved the GPR-SP predecessor on the road. _________________ Andy.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. I'm leaning towards the Bridgestone's. Feels like an appropriate replacement for the originals which are still on the bike - only 25 years old
A little late, but a different tyre, so posting anyway..
I used Metzeler M07RR's on my last bike (Honda CB1, which runs on 110 front and 140 rear). The M07RR's are used for a race-class in the netherlands, the KTM 390 Duke cup. I believe that cup is in the UK aswell??
Since I only have a NSR since a few months (and only worked on it yet) I have no experience with the tyres on the NSR, but I liked them a lot.. I have a considerable stock of them so will be using them on the NSR aswell, but for Motogymkhana. I will use the M07RR's as rain tyre and the earlier mentioned Super Corsa's on dry days...
