The other week my bike was knocked over by a unknown person (relevent because i would have it in the mechanics if i knew who.) anyway the fuel valve was open and i want to ask before starting it! if this could have caused any issues, over the X hours it lay on its side.

Possibly, as if the carbs didn't shut themselves off, the fuel will have leaked out. You should have spotted it though...

Probably won't hurt to remove the plugs and kick it over a few times to ensure there's no fluid build up.

thanks Dave have just done that and it started ok. will take it for a test ride later on today and tell you how it went.
