MC21 decals

Wed Apr 26, 2017 11:24 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I'm in the final throes of rescuing an MC21 in red and black - a 9L I believe. The fairings, although original NSR, are scratched and need the decals replacing. Whilst I could make up the solid black sections myself, the logo items are no longer available, according to my local dealer. Full sets from eBay are in the hundreds, and I'm considering going for a replacement set of Chinese fairings which will a) be in better nick then my cracked, old stuff and b) have the logos already on. Opinions, please, or any suggestions on replacement decals.

A) I only need SOME decals, not the full set at £140
B) my colour scheme isn't available
C) would it be retrograde to fit an undamaged set of Chinese fairings complete with decals for £300-ish rather than have my damaged OEM stuff resprayed and decaled?

Personally i would go for the chinese bodywork, i have a set on my 21 trackbike and i have seen plenty of sets, and for the money you cant beat em, it's only the rivet counters that slag em off, i was going to buy fibreglass race bodywork and get it painted, but i couldn't have got it painted for the price of the chinese stuff delivered to my door.

Thanks. I'm going to try to get hold of the text stuff and fix the rest of the decals myself, providing I can weld up the existing OEM fairings including building up one of the mirror mounting legs on the top fairing. If all that works, I'll have the mended bits resprayed and go the OEM route. If not, China here I come.
