MC21 SP Deal off :-(

Tue May 14, 2019 7:15 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Well took delivery of my 91 Pentax SP unfortunately the dealer despite being asked to look over the bike and describe any damage missed that it had been down the road both sides, with damage to the right hand side being the worst. I could see that the front top fairing had been ground down by approx 1/4 inch and had damage to the fork leg, clutch cover, exhaust and indicators etc, the other side wasn't much better. So I have exercised my right to reject it under the Consumer Contracts regulations and it will be going back which is very disappointing. If anyone has a 91 + SP they might be interested in selling then please feel free to contact me.

Downer!

Seen some dodgy bikes come from dealers/traders in my time! It's really not on, and glad you didn't just let them get away with it.

That's a bummer, I suspect it was a "straight out the crate dealer", they seem to be the worst ones, some cant even be bothered to get them running, you would be better getting one from a member on here, that's had all the problems ironed out, don't give up on one just yet.

Real Downer but for someone who had 30 years in the trade , inexcusable ! I run a successful auction house and would never dream of glossing over condition especially when the customer had asked to honestly describe the item. The interesting bit was that the seller didn't argue with the extra damage I pointed out. Rant Over.

Well I can say that they arranged pickup and paid me all monies back straight away including my transport cost. So cant fault them for that.

What I will say is, all the dealers that I know of, importing and selling NSR's, or any other import, are selling them straight out the crate without even looking at them, and the prices being asked are double what they are worth considering the condition of some of them, the only dealer I know who titivates em up is fastline, but you are paying a high premium if you go there. One of the problems is the japs are now wanting to collect NSR's , and due to the shortage, dealers are having to pay top dollar at the auctions. Sadly anyone wanting into NSR's now has realy missed the boat, the days of the £1500 - £2000 NSR have long gone sadly.
