Compression Testing.....

Sat Jul 09, 2005 10:15 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

What should I see from a health engine if I done a compression test?

I've seen 130psi mentioned, is this a healthy figure? (21R).

The bike is very smokey when I get higher up the rev range and I want to find out why. I've set the oil pump to the marker so I know thats right, only other thing I can think of is rings?!

Question Confused

Yes - bugger off! Confused

Anything over 115 is good, but as important is that they're the same. 115 on one side and 130 on the other would give cause for concern...

Cheers Dave, sorry to wake you! Wink

I know they have to be the same / close. Just wandered what a good compression was.

Also got a strange powerjet setup, but I'll start another thread on that and include pics.

Cheers
