dry cluth basket

hi i am new to the nsr250 mc21

so is the nut on the dry clutch basket righthand or a lefthand thread as i cannot remove it as its really tight and scared of breaking something,or am i missing something,thanks

The nut holding the hub on is conventional (right hand) thread, but it's staked, and there's a domed locking washer behind it too. It can be a sod to get off without a decent holding tool, especially if someone's [unnecessarily] used Loctite or over-torqued it previously.

Get an old steel clutch plate and weld a handle to it, or alternatively buy one on the dreaded internet.

The official Honda tool looks like a mutation of a pair on mole grips, or as Les says, you can weld a handle to an old clutch plate:

wow i got the nut off that was well tight had to use a extension bar to give it more torque

Yeah, between them being staked, and the special conical washer behind the nut, they can indeed be on there pretty tight... especially if someone's used Loctite previously too!
