Breather / overflows

Mon May 04, 2020 12:32 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Going through the MC21 I bought and at the breathers / overflows coming out in front of the rear wheel. On the left there are 3 hoses coming out around 12mm 10mm and 6mm. What is the 6mm one - mine is only about 120mm long and can't see where it went. It's not either of the ones to the carbs they come out on the other side and are also in need of replacement. They are very hard and very brittle.
Thanks
Camo

Hi Camo

Mine has that configuration as well, I'll have a look when I get down the garage later.
I know the two on the other side are the carb drains

OK so the big one is the coolant breather, it routes up the inside of the left frame rail to the coolant header tank.
The little one seems to route to a spigot on the bottom of the rear shock.
The middle one I don't know for sure...I think it routes up between and below the carbs and then I loose track of it...Im going to guess a crankcase breather.

On the other side the two small ones are carb drains and the big one is the fuel tank filler drain, for rainwater that gets in around the filler cap...

I think Smile

You might find something from Honda, but when I was looking for carb. drain pipe they didn't have any...so I used oil safe PVC pipe off the 'net. It's not the same grey colour but it was at least pliable and cheap as chips!! (if you could get chips at the moment!) Very Happy
