Hi i am new to the nsr so i just stripped me jap import NSR forks for a restoration and was wondering what the groove on the top of the fork stanchions is for as i want to get them rechromed and wondered if that needs to be there when they are chromed,thanks Paul

Hi there if you mean the shallow groove near the top it is for a ring that the clip on rests on for the top yoke to fit as Honda meant it too, not essential as most people lower the fork legs anyway
