Since filling my bike up at the garage my bike has been running very badly.
When the bike is stone cold it will warm up ok and for the first five minutes the bike will rev fully.
When the bike gets to normal running tempeture 60 - 80c it runs like a bag of nail. It will not rev above 5000 - 6000rpm when riding but will rev fully on the spot.
I have changed the spark plugs check the air filter checked the carbs, the lot and every think seams to be ok but has not fixed the problem.
Right this could be it. I have a Diesel car and i think i put 4 pounds worth in a half full tank. Does this sound like the trouble im getting.
not sure exactly what u are saying but if it is that u put diesel in it that is the mistake. drain **** fuel and put petrol in. i run 96-98 octane. _________________ 94 mc28 SE
I'm not sure if i put diesel in it. its possible i did. The fact is now the bike is running realy badly like i said above and was wondering if any body has had the same problem.
You're a brave guy for posting that Jamie... even braver if you own up to it being your f*ck-up tomorrow morning!
I reckon you're going to be posting a little embarrassed smiley tomorrow - but I'm sure no-one will take the piss! _________________ Andy.

it happens all the time I have drained 3 cars this week already.we will take the piss though, it would be the first time I have heard it being done to a bike.
I've seen this many times by people traveling. The shop is next to a interstate. But then again, Harley riders are a strange lot. Of course they ride diesels anyway, right _________________ To much HP is barely adequate!

I spent good part of this morning draining my Tank and strip clearning my Carbs, Checking the reed Vaules, power vaules, new spark plugs, cleaned air filter and even took the pipes of to pear into the clynders heads. Put all back togeather again with great great care. I then went down the garage and brought there finest petrol. Took it for a spin and as soon as it got hot it F***** up again. Whats going on what could be wrong.
Well at this point i was nearly crying so i desided to take it around a friends house. two heads better then one i thought.
Any way to keep this short, Two stroke oil that i have split has dripped down and managed to work its way into the front cylinder could spade connectors that were a little bit loose. We clean them up with a file and reduse the gap in the connectors and put the bike back togeather again and guess what.
Jamie, don't feel like a tart. I bet there's a few people this has happened to.
I had gone out in the morning on my 300. Everything was tickety-boo, then bosh....one cylinder and bugger all power.
Ah, that'll be a plug then, I thought. Pulled up at my mates shop, had a cuppa while waiting for things to cool down a tad, switched the plug, fired it up and hooned off. About 5 minutes later it was back on one cylinder.
Pulled the plug again, it was soaked, so I thought I'd just had bad luck and thrown in a dodgy plug. changed it again and zipped off. Good as gold for a couple of minutes then it's back on one again.
This time i wasn't going to just change the plug as it was obviously something else.
Thought I'd switch the coils to see if it'd kill the other cylinder, but as soon as I pulled the connectors off I saw that they were scortched and had been shorting. Snipped off the male connectors and fitted some new ones, cleaned up the coil connection with a bit of wet & dry and it hasn't done it since. Problem solved.
Well done for spotting the problem, and not dismissing it. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
