Aren't they anodised? Confused I honestly can't remember, as I've not taken notice of stock calipers for a long time, but I'm pretty sure they're not painted as standard.

I had my MC18 calipers painted with black cerakote. It's very resistant to brake fluid. I don't know if silver is available though

Its definitely some kind of anodised finish. I have heard good reports on cerakote but not used it myself, who do you use Rob H?
