So do ye pull the tank and manually remove the carbs and empty the bowls? or do ye turn off the fuel tap and leave the bike run til it uses the fuel in them and the lines? or another way like leaving it rot in there lol. Im more curious than anything. _________________ John 3:7
If i know i wont be using the bike for a while, i'll pull the carbs off, drain em, remove the jets for a blow job, ( ahem ), give everything another one of them blow jobs with the airline, and jobs a good un till next time. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
Just stick a jar under the bike and crack off the drain screws on the float bowls, if you're worried about it. Bear in mind if you're using premix though, that there may be a slight oily residue left from the mixture that could, eventually, turn to a gel-like substance... after several months!
Personally, unless you think it's going to be 6-12 months before you use it again, I'd just drain the float bowls. It takes seconds.
As for Les's "labour intensive" method... really?! On an MC21 race bike it's two screws and a couple of minutes max to pull the carbs off the manifolds! (You don't need to disconnect the throttle cables.) _________________ Andy.
