Well! The headline "result "is my starting point. A short while ago further down the listings, there was a topic relating to the ACU's desicion not to allow any British 250cc riders into the Donnington GP, I read through all the threads and was invited to respond through several links. I put together a lengthy tome regarding this matter and also added my own personal views on two stroke racing in the UK and Emailed this off to the MCN paper with the instructions that they may use any of my material if they lobbied the ACU.
I never heard from MCN and had quite forgotton all about my musings until I opened this weeks edition of the paper. I was hurriedly flicking through the pages desperate to reach the racing section when A photo of Chaz Davies "in action" caught my eye. This was on the letters page and the article related to my correspondence. Sadly the feature had been "well" edited and only a few lines of the original text had been used. Never the less the passage put accross the empathy of my feelings. It even had a reply from the ACU explaining "lamely" their reasons for the desicion not to warrant "our lads" inclusion in the premier race of the UK.
I was thrilled to see my correspondence and name in print, for I had not written it with any intention for it to appear in the paper. My collegue pointed out to me that this article had won the letter of the week and that the paper always offered a prize for such letters. I was contacted by MCN and informed that I was being offered two VIP tickets to the Silverstone round of the BSB series to be held on the weekend of 21 august. This was full hospitality, eg: breakfast, lunch, free bar, a tour around the garages and pits and viewing of the race action from the VIP gallery along the start/ finish straight. Wes and I would also be introduced to the top teams and riders. There was also a mention of a photo shoot with the MCN girls and if this was appropriate it would be aired in a future edition of MCN......So RESULT or what? All this came from a thread on NSR World.com. What started out as latent anger from myself has resulted in another freebie for Wes and me. Whilst at this event let's see what other doors can be opened. _________________ Hmmmmm!
That's also the 2nd time the rag has had that custom built NSR500 rep in too. When are they ever gonna test it! I can't believe it weighs in at 118Kg dry but the 130bhp sounds good. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
Bloody top mate, good for you for making the effort - you deserve the freebie. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
