HRC front Wheel

Thu Jul 21, 2005 2:33 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Is there such thing as an HRC front wheel, The MC18 i just bought has a HRC sticker on the rim, i think racer said it had a rs250 front wheel but, how do i tell, It looks like a regular nc30 wheel, it takes a 120 tyre... Is there such a ting, and while we are on it, has anybody got a picture, or can they tell me how to identify MC18 forks???? These look non standard!!
Cheers

The HRC wheel for the NSR is effectively an RS250 Magtek. The RS Magtek differs to the NSR Magtek in weight, but appearance is pretty similar.

Differences between Magteks and the standard "Enki" wheels have been discussed elsewhere on the Forum.

I'm sure there will be an ID mark on the RS wheel, but I don't know what or where it is. They do have an HRC sticker on the rim though - the quality of the sticker should be apparent if it's genuine! (Yep, even the HRC stickers are top notch!) Rolling Eyes

As for the forks, the MC18 forks have twin axle pinch-bolts on the bottom of the legs. It's not perfect way to distinguish them from all other Honda forks (I think the NC30 has twin bolts too), but the later NSRs only use a single bolt.

I think I've got an HRC front wheel and a normal magtek. They look slightly different, but other than weight, they must be the same spec..

Like Tom (Racer38) said before, the disks are RS250.

Forks could still well be RS250 too - they were when he built the bike! Some better photo's would possibly help identify them.

I'm sure you've still got the HRC wheel. Tell tale signs are that the edge of the rim doesn't have a bead (like the Magteks) secondly the wheel is sand cast(so I was told). The central section where the spokes meet the rim is all rough.

Discs are from an RS250 as well....or so I was told!
