okay...jus bought a DID chain....

want to replace the old one...how many links will i need?
the old one has 108 all up i counted including the connecting link.
does that sound about right?...i am running stock sprockets, 15 and 40 at back.

thanks mate...

maybe this is a silly question but....anyway...
i have never had a 2 stroke before my NSR..
compared to my four stroke the sound of the engine is obviously very different.

but it sounds like there is contact/hitting inside the engine.?..
if i put my hand on the engine case i can actually feel the case vibrate every time the time it fires.
at idle it is more noticeable but as you rev u dont notice it so much..
is this normal?

either way...i love the sound of the 2 stroke engine.. Smile

Make sure you count your chain before you cut the new one, someone on here who will remain nameless was let loose with a chain splitter and it almost ended in disaster.

Surely you just offer it up and cut?
Easy to grind off the head insitu and then fit the soft link?

yeha i did replace the sprockets.front and rear.
which reminds me...i cant access the "parts manual" atm...

can anyone be kind enough to tell me the part no. for the white plastic thing that connects the front sprocket to the speedo cable. mine is broken..
