When i had the mc18 at cadwell the other day, it seemed dead, no power... Now when i rev my 21 the servo operates the power valves, i can see them move. I have just taken the tank off the 18, and started the bike with the fuel in the carbs, the servo dosent move at all, nothing. I think this is the problem with the 18, and thats why it was pants at the track, has anyone had the same problem?
I did notice the cables were very tight, and somewhere here I read that too tight and the servo burns out? Is this likely to be the pgm2 (or would the bike just not run) or is the servo gone? Is it possiable it's something else? I'd love to find out because the engine sounds nice, and I'd love to get full power out of her?
its very common for a tight RC valve to burn out that side of the PGM. if your only using the bike for the track you could just turn the servo by hand to fully open, and disconnect it. that way you will have full power, just keep the baby revin
Sounds good, for a while. just incase whats fully open anticlockwise, or counterclockwise, also what affect will it have on the bike a low speed, and starting, low speed i dont care, but gota start the Kant LOL, oh yeah and do you know if anyone has a spare servo?
If its like a 16 one, it has a small pointer on the wheel and a high and low mark on the case. Set it to high. I run my track 16 like this and it starts first kick. You will not have a lot of bottom end power so just keep the revs up, and she will fly. Can't help with a servo motor sorry.
Cool, I'll hav a look in the morning and see, hopfully the servo failed when closed LOL, otherwise the bike's F&ck$d LOL then Ill be back up here asking if anyone wants parts LOL.
The servo motor wont cycle at idle if the battery is getting flat. I had this a 21. Like Dave always says check that first and make sure its in good conditon. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Yeah, the battery isn't bad, and when I rev it with tank off the servo dosen't move. My 21 just had a bad battery and once started and revved the servo moved. I think it is a stuffed servo, or knackered PGM. On the track the bike is dead, has real trouble pulling in the top rev range.... I have turned it this morning to high, so if I get a chance I'll take it for a run and see. With no reg number etc I dont think I'll get much of a chance. Thanks though, I will double check the battery when i start it, just in case.
