Tyga GP pipes I have install questions

Fri Aug 19, 2005 4:23 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I picked-up a set of steel GP style pipes very cheap. They came with no flanges or anything. The seller said for MC18, but I had seen MC18 pipes and they have a very different shape at the cylinder then what he had. I bought them after looking at some on Tyga site and thought they might fit a MC21 (I have). They don't seem to line-up with the hanger mounts on the frame.

My question is a MC28 pipe mount different then a 21 ? These appear to be more foward on the pipe from the frame mount.
I'm thinking that maybe they fit a MC28 !

Yes, MC21 and MC28 pipes are slightly different.

What is the difference ? Is it the mounts points on the frame ?

I believe the mount points are in the same spot in relation to the engine, but the routing for the rear is where there are problems. Most of the MC21 stuff hits the Pro Arm rear on the left side, and most the MC28 stuff will hit the Gull Arm rear on the right side.

The MC21/28 mount points are in the same position, at least they should be if you ignore the production tolerances.

The 18 mounts further forward.
