cant find an nsr :(

Tue Oct 25, 2005 11:51 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hey all,

I cant find an nsr to do up over the winter, everyone i've contacted have replied once and thats about it.

One person even wanted £1,300 for a non running nsr, with damaged fairings etc... shocking.

So anyone anywhere got a decent mc21/mc28 for sale?

Yep, emails are easy to write and there's plenty of people who say they're interested and they aren't really.
Ask for a phone number, go and see them, put some effort in, show your serious.

They are out there but be prepered to travel a bit, Monkey and I both fetched ours from the same guy (but not at the same time) from 300+ miles away.

Ill have one soon, But im doing it up myself, Tried selling it on ebay, Its gona be at least another 8 weeks before its ready to go, I think you mailed me about the yellow one, Well when its finished itll be red n black like the one below, basically i have all my TYGA stuff now so as i set up my bike ill be using all my parts to put this one straight, including exhausts n chambers, hangers, rear sub frame, full fairing, itll have 208gps on it, new clutch, the only thing itll need is a set of chain and sprokects. and although it was an se itll be an R as im having the suspension for mine, and clutch/ g box (good news is itll have a near as new Wet clutch and gear box as i had one spare i got from a chap who striped a near new bike to go racing) but my R suspension is in good order and youll find it hard to fault. Let me know, But as everyone has said that R for sale is very nice and if your serious gota be worth a vist. fear not a nice one will turn up... and look carefully, Im basicaly shocked that the chap i got the yellow one from let it get in that state, i dont like bent crashed bikes especially when your told there in good cond.

Maybe we can help more if you give us a price guide and what your expecting to do up. Full engine, body, etc etc, this one looks to be in good nic, and it may be a bit high but you can always try and haggle, i dont think youll get one anywhere for less that 800 quid unless you get an amazing deal or its a propper shed, that said add all the bits on that need doing and your probally looking at 11 -1200 quid anyway. the only reason im doing mine up and not breaking it is because i have all the bits to fix it and its just my time but, think about this, it was 800 quid, it needs (gona be honest here) new fairning nose, repaire to rear panel, new subframe, new right hand chamber and exhaust, new exhaust hanger, new foot rest, new fairing stay, new mirrors, new screen, clipons are okay but need new bar ends, all of this i have so wont cost me a peny, if a bike comes up for less than 800 quid itll be snapped up for spares or to strip it and sell the bits, i did this with a RGV and made 300 on the parts.....have a think, and good luck one will come along

bought mine for 700 with a seized front pot... Be careful when you buy a bike to 'DO UP' over the winter... That's what I did and it now owes me about 7000! Shocked Wink

Oh, come on, you may not want a bike that good but it's only £1300, don't tell me you expect to find a sound bike for less, I've spent more than that on bits since I got mine, how little do you want to pay?

'28s like 'blade929's are another matter, the one Nigel went after sold in about 3 days for somewhere around £3.5k.
And not sure what it sold for but Graeme France wanted about £2k for the '28 he had with a shot engine and without the 300 kit when I fetched my Magteks.

Maxim, £7k yeah, plus £700 in the first place? Near £8k. And you were telling me £4.5k was too much to spend on a '28sp? Wink

Agreed, Ill say again, My bike was 1200 it still needed brake discs and the fairing is tatty, and although im not im full spend mode yet ive only had the bike since May, and ive spent close to 1600 on tyga stuff, that dosent include set up cost for engine and paint which together will be another K

I paid 800 quid for my se and she was in a real state and again the only reason im repairing her is ill have all the spare bits from my r had i not it would be a few pennys and i probally would have taken a gun and shot it! LOL , if you can get a nice well cared for 21 for 1300 id buy it. there is only so much you can repair without making it to expensive, id buy the 1300 bike if she's tidy there is an offer here for someone else to go and look at it for you (cant be bad) and if shes clean and tidy your laughing.. Take it use it, and then upgrade it LOL

There will be cheaper bikes there always is but how much work will she need? the only bargin ive seen was GAZANDJENS bike that racer38 bought it went for 800 and had a new head/piston and barrel but he needed to sell it bad! so i guess he took the 800.

Keep looking but its worth looking at a few to see what your getting !
