Lately I've noticed that upon a closer look at all the fairings from every angle, my old 92 SE is going to need some touch up and/or sticker replacement. Would anyone know of the correct paint codes or contacts for replacement stickers? I know that new panels are non-existant. _________________ Party hardy all night long till the sun comes up and the cows come home. Yeow!
Ar ethe scratches actually through the stickers? If not, you may be able to flat the surface and have it laquered.
If they are, then I guess replacement is the answer, though perhaps a complete re-paint may be better? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Here's a couple of shots I had taken. The first shows that the bike was laid down from a parked position. Someone had been using it for racing since my rear seat pad and rear pegs are gone. The green circles show where the majority of the scratches show up. I'd like to find replacements for the "O" and "N" but I'm not 100% sure what the color is. I'm trying to figure out if its an off purple or a blue........
The second shot shows that the upper area was gouged pretty good and whomever had it last touch painted it over quite a bit. The fender is also cracked on the upper screw mount hole. I didn't even realize I had the one at the bottom until I had taken this shot.
Any scratches on the plastic itself can be polished out using first 400 grit sandpaper, then finishing with 1200 grit. You must use machine oil for lubrication and if you want a mirror finish, you can LIGHTLY buff the area with a polishing wheel and very fine compund, similar to ally but with very little pressure... _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...

Hey! I have every intention of taking this back to the states. If finding parts is bad enough here, going back to California will be much worse. Just getting it on the road will prove a challenge. Going to car shows and bike events, you will want people educated that these bikes exist. Forget an everyday 1300 gixxer, this is a race bred design to take that hog in the turns! I can't even remember the last time a GP event has taken place back stateside when I was much younger. It must have been prior to '92 and I had wanted something like one of those miraculous bikes diving so low going around hairpin turns.
Now don't think that this will be a trailer queen. I have far too much fun riding right now before the first snowfall in another couple of months. The only regret is that nobody makes frame sliders for 'em. If I must, i'll consider the Tyga panels and do my best to get these back to show quality. Believe it or not, I actually started out on Go-peds and this is the direction that I would like to go. Those little weed whacker motors just don't provide enough........fun. _________________ Party hardy all night long till the sun comes up and the cows come home. Yeow!
