Hello everyone, I have just picked up a 1995 NSR250R MC21 and wondered if anyone knows what's involved in fitting an RVF400 NC35 USD front end? Also, is it possible to use the 400's clipons & switchgear as the right hand side one on the NSR is totally mullered! Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Just fitted one and it is very easy.
I used a complete front end wheel, rotors, calipers and forks.
All you need to do is grind the old weld off the bottom of the nsr triple clamp push out the steerer.
Get the RVF triple clamp remove steerer and press the nsr one in to the same height.
Weld the steerer on and fit to the bike.
Thats it you can still use the nsr front wheel if you like as it fits just juggle the spacers of the two bikes around and the wheel should line up.
Next send forks to ohlins dealer and get them revalved and sprung and you will be pleased.
A good conversion and thanks to you all for your previous posts
Thanks guys. I've now found an RVF400 on which the owner has been a bit enthusiastic after owning it for just 1 week! Panels, tank, rear subframe and clocks are all totalled, but the front end seems OK including the clipons. Although the forks have twisted in the triple clamps, I don't think they are bent. He won't break it and wants £500 for the lot.
OH DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!!
Buy that RVF! The parts are worth loads, and you'll make the £500 back easy. Those 17" rear wheels are very sought after by VFR owners for a start. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

But buy that RVF for 500! He's just sold the engine, minus loom, generator, flywheel etc for 300... You'll make your money back big time as the rear wheel usually goes for around 175. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
Ok OK you've convinced me! Can I assume you will all back me up when my wife discovers something new in the garage?
I have another highly technical question. How do you get those pictures below your posts? Is this available to all members, or just the elite few?
PS. Has anyone noticed the powerband that's for sale on ebay yet? LOL.
It's worth checking out the posted questions!
You have to buy Andy beer and women for a whole month to get these pics under your name! He's runs a tough ship... _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
