Odd PGM and wiring Loom for a MC21

Mon Nov 14, 2005 2:59 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have heard from some sources that some of the MC21's came with a diffrent wiring Loom Shocked Chatting with Mick whos doing My NSR he has it all ready to go but is looking into the possiabilty that it may have a diffrent Loom installed. So before he dose the manual wire splice he's gona confirm that the wires are all in the right place, I understand ANDY had a diagram or a discription of the odd loom, can anyone shed some light on this? it may (I said may) explain why my bike only had 46hp with a M Max box installed!!!! on its first dyno run. an info could be useful for all as there may be more of us out there with a dirrent loom. Cheers

I'd be surprised. The Honda manual is the Honda manual, it doesn't lie, it has the same part number for all '21 looms.

As Monkey says the Mmax box is a waste of time as it only does the pgm splice which is just one wire anyway. The box also came with jet settings and a free flow filter, were they done too?
Any engines power is directly related to the amount of mixture it can get into the cylinder and neither the mmax box or the wire splice change this at all, all the wires splices (there are 2 of them really) do is give your bike the potential to produce power, if no more fuel and/or air is getting in (presuming the jetting was optimal anyway) then the effect is likely to be minimal if you're lucky and seizure if not Wink

There are 3 different wiring harnesses for the MC21, and different PGM-III's, including an HRC one! All three wiring diagrams will be available in FULL COLOUR in the new Members section at a later date.

The orange/blue wire-spice is the same for each harness though.
