Has anyone done a dyno comparision on engine performance when using different manufacturers pipes.
The reason I ask is that I'm going to invest in some new pipes but am unsure between Tygas and the new dogfighters. Any help please? _________________ Better to burn out and seize than fade away crying!
Research seems to indicate the Honda genuine pipes are exceptionally good! The best power from an NSR Stephen has seen on the dyno was 66 on genuine pipes.
However, they weigh a LOT more than aftermarket stuff.
There's not much difference between all the aftermarket pipes to be honest, most people seem to get just over 60hp no matter what they have. Some pipes allow a little more over-rev, some have a slightly wider power band, but overall there's not much in it.
When I was racing, I had 63hp out of mine with no air filter and Tyga pipes. They top out at about 11,800rpm (fine by me - I like my crank!) and survived a couple of crashes bashed but intact.
I'd recommend Tyga as I've uysed them, can't say for the others... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Well, pre-production has commenced this week on the NSR-WORLD.COM race pipes.
These are going to be based initially on the stock pipes, but naturally considerably lighter. They will also initially be made in mild steel to keep the cost low for both racers and track-day riders who don't want to risk trashing nice SS pipes for the sake of an £80 fun day out!
The pipes will be made to accept stock Honda and the MFactoryWest carbon cans available in the marketplace.
Naturally the pipes will be supprted by comprehensive dyno testing and development, but that won't commence for another 2 months.
Pipes will initailly be available for the MC21, with other models to follow, depending on interest.
