ERR! did'nt know you could do that
Whats the difference between this and the HRC one apart from the cost obviously .
If its that simple ive f***ed up big time as ive just sold a load of old heads front and rear
ANDY do you supply these kits as i cant see them in the shop section and when i phoned 'padgetts' (there the only HRC dealer I know of) said that it was no longer available _________________ MC21R Repsol replica

As far as I'm aware the HRC kit is just a rear head, a fancy hose and maybe a short plug and a coil with the short plug cap attached.
The part number is 06113-NKD-970.
Apex list them at £96 which is cheaper than the combined price of all the parts required if you bear in mind they say you do get a coil.
Jamie also lists them but without the plug+cap+coil and has a nice pic of the hose required as well. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

If Apex Leisure can indeed supply the complete kit for £96, then you won't do any better, I guarantee it! Frankly I'm amazed they can sell for that, as I couldn't get near that price even if I received full UK Honda discount, which I don't.
As Laurent says, the short plugs are very expensive at around £25 a pop, and don't last long either! Replacement caps are the same money too. Plugs and caps are available from TYGA significantly cheaper, but by the time you add shipping, the cost is negligible, and nearly 4 times that of the regular BR9ECM's. _________________ Andy.

Head: ~6000 yen (actually a rear cylinder head)
Hose: ~2000 yen (special HRC part)
Coil: you can use an upper cylinder coil with the lower coil angled plug cap, the coil costs around 1200 yen brand new. _________________ Paul Herr

That's all very well if you can buy the parts in Japan, but ¥9200 is still £45 in today's money, and you still need to ship the parts, possibly add VAT @ 17.5%, and add a shorty cap & plug to the cost. Don't forget the bank charges to transfer money internationally too!
Apex listing the kits at £96 is a bargain! Even if all the parts have come in from Japan (including the plugs & caps which total about ¥5500) then that's £70 BEFORE tax, import duty, shipping, and thier resale profit margin!
Also, I agree, you can use a top coil with an angled lower cap, but it won't fit inside the stock bodywork, and there is a possibility of contact between tyre and plug. Again, fine if you are happy to hack a hole in your V-piece or are using a GRP fairing lower, but I prefer the tidy approach. _________________ Andy.

So would you not recomend this mod then?
What power gains do you get .
Does it justify hacking up the bodywork aswell?
How did you get the YEN symbol up ? _________________ MC21R Repsol replica

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, I'm saying be aware that unless you use the short plug and cap, which are very expensive, you will have to hack out part of the bodywork. If you do use the short plug/cap, then they are expensive, and the plugs don't last long!
Buy a kit off Apex for £96 - it's a bargain! _________________ Andy.

Thanks for that but what heat range plug would you recommend for street use as i have a few contacts and get pretty good discount on NGK spark plugs .
Ive made my mind up that this is another thing on the wish list for after christmas so i will be ordering one in the new year
Also what sort of mileage do you get out of these stubby plugs then ? _________________ MC21R Repsol replica
