Well she came home today after 5 weeks at Total Traction.
Im very happy with the result, here's whats was done,
Front head conversion.
HRC water hose to go with above.
Black Box riped out and Wire splice done.
TYGA Side by Side Chambers Fitted.
TYGA Ali End Cans.
TYGA Moddified air box
New Honda Airfilter
HRC JET Kit
TYGA Style Reed Cages and HRC Stuffers
HRC Reeds ( i have carbon ones but the HRC ones Worked Better im told)
Balanced Carbs and Power Valves
The reslut is amazing i think. This is rear wheel power, Mick has said his dyno is around 3 - 5hp down (no reason to disbelive as Nigels bike whic went to the same place was 3HP up at the NSR dyno day) He is a top bloke and its reassuring that when you speak to him he says things like mmm Im not happy i wana try this...etc etc
Torque is up and Bhp is up the curves are real smoth
ill post some pics of the bike soon enough but she's getting the dry cluctch done first!
And it didnt cost as much as i thought! £350 all in. (labour only as i supplyed all the parts)
I had tried several of the HRC reed setups and was disappointed. The peak power could match the Tyga carbon reed setup, but the midrange was sacrificed.
If I were you, I would get a hold of some carbon reeds and see how she does on the dyno. _________________ Paul Herr

I did, They were Guff, he couldnt get them to perform, to many dips!
I think it must be each bike to its own, may work on others but didnt on mine!!!! So the reeds i have will be for sale on ebay in a few days! I bought the tyga stuff as like you they are suposed to be the dogs, but Mick said he was getting better results with the HRC ones, so who am i to tell him what to do.....
Maybe he has some HRC ones I havent tried yet. There are a couple different HRC setups for the NSR. Do you have a pic so I can compare? Now I'm itchin' to find out what he has going on there...
:edit: Hey, I just thought of something. Maybe he is referring to the entire HRC reed block assembly. Is it just the reeds, or the whole reed block? The one thing I never tried was the HRC reed block assembly for the NSR (I believe this was an F3 part). They are pretty spendy, and I never had the cash. They use a longer reed than the stock NSR reed blocks, and are definately a better setup. _________________ Paul Herr

MY BIKE PICS
Without taking it apart i dont have a picture sorry, To be honest im sure he's just used the TYGA stuff i gave him, i orderd from the web. The Cages Come with HRC Stuffers and Reeds! I didnt know that at the time which is why i got the carbon one's.
I dont know if he used other bits in the cages, But the JET kit he used most of the HRC stuff but then decided on diffrent JET's that didnt come with the HRC kit, !
He told me from his experiance with the rs250 and 125 the setup i had now would work better and id still have some nice midrange!
He did say the carbon reeds might work better with standard cages!
I have to say mick was excellent he really did a good job, I asked for the bike to be set up Safe So it wasnt running on the edge and its come back nice, It sounds F&^*king amazing. I found out today he is a complete NUT 2 stroke nut he has several RG500's and an amazing bit of kit was sitting on the dyno when i picked mine up, he took the time to show me his pride and joy, A Yankee 500 from 1969 parralel twin that he has rebuilt and tuned, 80hp from a straight ported 2 stroke no power gubbins and from 1969 It looked ace and it just gives you that warm feeling when you see this that his attention to detail is all there.
There may well be an F3 entire reed block, I'm not sure, but it'll be a bitch to find and source parts for now.
The only part HRC list as far as I know is the rectifier as available from the market place. There is no HRC reed according to Matt at Tyga, Paul apparently has RS125 reeds in his '28.
The Tyga kit includes a high flow valve, HRC style rectifier and a std Honda reed. The carbon reed is seperate.
Add into the mix some other quality reeds like Boyesen and you've got about a dozen combinations to play with and that's without trying them 50/50.
If you don't want the reeds I'm up for some real world testing, pm me with a price for them _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
