I now have details of the high capacity rad we discussed a couple of weeks ago.
They are approximately 52mm thick with a curved multi-core design. This gives just over twice the cooling capacity of the standard rad and a similar capacity to the discontinued F3 rad.
All fittings and fixtures remain the same as the stock rad, so you will be able to just bolt off and bolt on, and will still be able to use the thermostat if required for road use.
The rad will come with a new cap and anything else required for a straight swap, and for perfectionists, will also include the mounting tabs for the plastic 'thingys' on each side...
If you're interested in buying one, the prices are as follows:
1 off - £500.00
5 off - £450.00
I'm hoping to get 4 other people to jump on board so we can take advantage of the lower price... If you are interested, then either say here or PM me for any further details. I would need a deposit to show your intentions if you wish to go the 5 off route.
The rad is being produced by Pace Products for me as a custom build, and they have offered these prices if purchased through me. I'm not making anything on them (because I'm generous occasionly!) so I would need to add postage or they can be collected from me.
They currently have my NSR for fitting and development, to ensure that there are no interference issues.
I will need to know if anyone would like to go the 5 off route by the 1st week in January 06, with delivery approximately 2 weeks after.
Thanks for you time! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
Ah, the high volume radiator. My tuner hates the one on my RS250. Reason? Cause it works better then it needs to. Yep, on most days, I need to run 4 strips of tape to keep it warm enough. On cold days? ****, the thing almost never gets warm enough .
He told me to go back to the stock, even though the all aluminum extra volumne one is a work of welding art. I like it cause, well, cause it's on the bike, and I don't feel like switching it right now. _________________ Charles Gallant
Of course you NEED it Clarkie... Mine runs at around 80-85 on a hot day, hence the reason for this rad to try and control things. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
OK Maxim, I've "un-stuck" this thread to make it a little more prominent, as the sticky topics often easily get overlooked.
Feel free to bump it regularly, as I know there were some "talkers" before, and the response to your efforts so far have been a bit of a disappointment, to say the least!
I know there are a couple of "specials" being built right now, and this radiator sounds like a great alternative to the stupidly expensive RS/HRC item, which is increasingly difficult to obtain, especially in A1 condition. _________________ Andy.

Not disappointment Andt, just im sure the original price was about £300 and i was prepared for that but it now £450 which i guess is still a good deal its just i dont have the extra just yet with 2 kids its the wrong time of year......
I know I was under the impression it was to be around the 300 (+vat) mark too but they mis-quoted, (long story) and have agreed on the 450 inc vat mark... Still, you've got until mid-Jan!!
And think, an aftermarket rad will be worth 100 points on the new posers table... Right Andy!? _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
That's probably about right, bearing in mind under the current system you clock up points for useless tat like steering dampers, pod filters and silly bits of sticky back "carbon fibre" and get nothing at all for a genuinely functional HRC product
Come on Andy. Are you open for some suggestions for what should (and more to the point shouldn't) get points?
But on a more serious note are the '21 and '28 radiatiors the same? The part numbers are different but they look very similar in the manual.
Pace should know I suppose, Graeme France had a high capacity Pace radiatior on the '28sp I had the Magteks off so they've done them before.
Maxim, 80-85*c? That's not scary. Both '28's saw 100+ stuck in traffic round Chelsea. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
If you can get 5 people then that is a good price if it works as well as the HRC rad. I bought a triple core last year (Still in the box) and it cost more than that. Now that HRC has stopped making and selling these parts people will have to start making their own stuff....whats it going to be like in 20 years from now when our NSR bikes are vintage?
