Servicing my MC21/Owners manual

Tue Dec 20, 2005 4:46 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have a nsr 250 (MC21) and it is due for a service and a tune up very soon, I was wondering if anyone can help with this as i want to do this on my own as i have most of the tools to do it. I really only need the tuning specs and types of oils to use and so on. if anyone can help that would be good. Very Happy

Does anyone have a copy of the service/owners manual in english yet?

Try having a look here

What oils are available to you in OZ ?
As quite a lot of peeps on here swaer by Rock Oil which is a U.K sourced oil ,Motul is normally quite a well traveled oil and i have allways used it personally in my 2T's for around 14 years with no problems.
IPONE is another good oil which is very popular in Japan not sure if you can get it where you are though it is available in the U.K but mainly at dedicated MX stores.
The only advice i can give is be sure to use a FULLY SYNTHETIC oil in your gearbox and your 2 stroke autolube tank and stay away from Castor based oils if its for street use ( although they do smell the best i have had problems with it in street bikes Laughing )
Also be aware of there API number Rating as the higher the rating the better the quality of oil (this is normally SJ or higher on fully synthetic I think)
