I have some oil leaks on my nsr, i have been told its normal which i believe to be true cause the guy is very knowledgable, but I thought I should double check, just in case I am riding it one day and it blows up
Well, for a start, I'd say that IMG_61 is chain oil, dripping down from the front sprocket (chain wheel)!
The other "oil leak" would simply appear to be what many call "2-stroke spooge". That's basically unburned 2-stroke fuel leaking past the exhaust gaskets, but often a sign of richness. It can also happen if you ride at low RPM a lot, as the motor only has a good clean burning RPM range when it's in its' power-band.
If you are happy with how it's running, then some high temp RTV sealant should cure most of the exhaust "leak". _________________ Andy.

On my nsr it had the same problem, i fixed it by replacing the nuts and stud bolts on the exhaust pipe (where it joins the motor) ever since i did that it hasn't leaked any oil since the day i had it... _________________ Honda NSR 250, 1990
yup i also have/had a similar problem on mine, i took dave etts advise and sealed the exhausts around the gaskets and where the pipes join together with some silicone sealant.
have yet to see if it has worked as the bike is still in bits _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

Hi Temp silcone worked for me too. New gaskets will help too. _________________ 1995 A kit TZ 250

No problems, but you'll never get the fairings clean again. Also, to be pedantic (not something I'm often accused of) your exhausts aren't fully sealed to the motor, so it's not running as perfectly as it might be.
Not that you'll notice the difference, but you just KNOW it's there! _________________ MC21SP Plaything
