PGM4 display problems...

Thu Aug 19, 2004 9:44 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,

This is my 1st post. I have read heaps on this forum and there is lots of info. I have searched for an answer to my questions but have not come up with what I have been looking for. I am a technical/mechanical newb when it comes to motorcycles, but I love the NSR250s.

I am in the market to purchase an MC28 and there are 2 that I have been looking at, well sort of, these bikes are both in different States to where I live, I have had Non-NSR knowledgeable bike riding buddies to check them out and report back.

Bike 1: Button on LCD display assembly doesn't work and cannot switch over to see mileage counter/display. (switch contact problem??)
Bike 2: LCD display not working at all. Nothing showing.

Both bikes start and run fine. Both these bikes were trade-ins to the bike dealer - who don't know much about NSRs too. And they don't know how to fix these bugs.

Do they sound like simple fixes or very costly???

Any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Jezza

Ah...
the dreaded display problem. Often happens on the MC28. Mine cost me around $180 USD when I was in Japan. The price goes up from there, depending on how far it has to ship. There is no way around it, no way to fix the old one.

Contact www.tygaperformance.com and see what they can get one to you for. That would probably be the best route.
