I need to know what model of bike ran the Mikuni TM34 carb as standard. I've a feeling it was a Yamaha YZ125, probably pre 1990 but I'm not sure. Or maybe a suzuki RM of years gone by.

Can anyone help?
I think some 99-02 Gas Gas 250's use either TM / TMX or PWK - later Gas Gas is deffo big PWK.
Early RM125's used a PWK 32 / 34 which are great - the PWK range was designed for idiots to use and set up - they work on anything.
Later RM's used something a bit obscure but I don't actually know what it was I'm afraid.
The YZ (pre 90) would most probably be a Mikuni due to what Yam were doing at that time so I'd go for the RM but you gotta find 2 of them and then nick the choke circuit out of something like the offside PWK28 from a KR1 etc...
I happen to have already completed that quest and it took 18 months of watching e-bay and scavenging bits.
Good luck ! _________________ These aren't the droids you're looking for.
My 1950 BSA doesnt use one and nor does any Norton I've ever come across, so theres another 2 bikes you can add to Binka's list of bikes that dont use TM carbs, hope that helps you Matt. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
I think you'll find Ducati's don't use them either!
Hey, by the time we've listed all the bikes that don't use them, you should have your list Matt!
Oh, the Ariel Leader square four (or Squarial as it was affectionately known!) didn't use them either, so cross that one off the list... er, or is it add that one to the list?! _________________ Andy.

An Ariel Leader was a 2 stoke twin not a 4 Andy, The square 4 was a 4 stoke and that didnt use a TM carb either... hell at this rate we will soon list all teh bikes without a TM carb! _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
OK OK, so I know bugger all about old Brit bikes! I don't know much about pipe tobacco, wax cotton jackets, or flat caps either, and I'm proud of it! _________________ Andy.

The only year I know that used the 34mm carb was 82ish to 86 a VM34SS model, but iam sure they changed to a TM or called it a TM, read some were it was TMX around 87 and TMS 92 onwards.
maybe it helps maybe not.
But you aint coming round to knick my carbs!! _________________ Farting is funny
