Forgive me for being really nieve, but can I ask anyone how to adjust the chain on an mc28. I have a chain tool and ss paddock stand, but not uch idea beyond that. also is 2.5cm to 3.5cm lift from the lower run of the chain the ideal.
Put the bike on the paddock stand. At the rear of the swinging arm there is a large pinch bolt (has a 17mm head i think) slacken that, then using the the tool you have turn the eccentric hub clockwise or anti clockwise to tighten or loosen the chain.
The tool slots into the eccentric hub just behind the sprocket. Pull the handle of the tool up to tighten and down to loosen.
Once you have the chain about right retighten the pinch bolt and recheck the chain (they tend to tighten up as you tighten the pinch bolt)
I cant remember the torque for the pinch bolt as i think the RC45 is differnt to yours. About 25mm of slack seems right as long as you dont have any of the HRC chain roller kits.
I think it's possible to rotate the carrier drum either way isn't it? If you rotate it so the shaft is below the centreline you'll raise the rear and vice versa.
Could be wrong though... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Yes, the whole hub rotates inside the swinging arm. Youre right there dave, depending which side the wheel spindle is of the center line depends on the ride hight. Most bikes come with the spindle below the center line tho. Just rotate the hub with the honda tool to move the wheel back and forward.
